I’m a truck driver. I love the outdoors and my Jeep. I enjoy reading and watching movies. Game of Thrones is my favorite TV show.
I listened to an audio book about Keto and the idea really caught my attention. I subscribed to the subreddit and have been going strong since.
I haven’t really cheated yet. Someone once wrote ‘I’ve had 34 years of cheat days. I don’t need another one.’ That really stuck with me.
Jumped right in on the diet! I bought the test strips and checked my ketone levels 3 or 4 days in and I was good :)
I weigh myself once a week. I don’t want to ‘live and die by the scale’. I use the MyKeto app to track food intake. The app is helpful, especially at first. It really helps you visualize the amount of fats, proteins, and carbs you can consume.
Not very supportive. My mom was worried that it was a bad idea and carbs are essential. My weightlifter friend told me he hates ‘fad diets’ and I should just eat chicken and veggies for ever meal and I’d still lose weight.
I’ve never had a weight gain since I’ve been on keto, but I’ve had 2 weeks where I weighed the same. KCKO. I kept calm and keto’d on!
I definitely feel better. Overall, I have more energy and am in a better mood. I’ve had some really bad stuff happen in my personal life since I started keto and I think that having a good diet has helped me not look to food as a coping mechanism.
I’m a truck driver so meals can be difficult. Luckily, I’m local and mostly do the same routes so I can figure out where I can and can’t park and eat pretty quickly.
I did have the keto flu for 2 days early on, but I pushed through that barrier and haven’t looked back. Been feeling great since.
Breakfast is usually 2 sausage patties, lunch is usually whatever leftovers I have from the previous night’s dinner. Dinner is usually steak or chicken.
Just a nice simple steak, maybe some asparagus on the side.
Five Guys bacon cheeseburger with mayo and extra cheese.
Popcorn. Oh my gosh, especially at the movies.
I’m also a stage 3 testicular cancer survivor :)
